Mistletoes Plate Craft...

When I saw this project on pinterest, I knew I had to do it! It looked simple enough and so stinkin' cute. I tried one just to see how it would turn out, and since it turned out so nicely, I decided to make one for each of Leland's grandparents.

My first attempt - this one is for me.

The other plates are for my mom & stepdad, my dad & stepmom, and Dave's parents.

I didn't decorate the outside edge of mine, and it looks fine without it, but I decided to get a little more creative with the others. I adore these! 

To make this project, you'll need:

• White ceramic plate {I got a box of 4 at Meijer for $15. I'm sure there are other place you can get them cheaper, but I was on a bit of a time crunch and didn't feel like looking elsewhere.}
• Acrylic paint that is good with ceramics - it should say right on the bottle
• Acrylic paint pens {makes the writing so much easier, but I'm sure you could just use the paint and it would be cheaper}

Directions:

1. Wash plate and let dry thoroughly. 
2. Paint your baby's feet and press onto the plate. I did Leland's while he was eating his snack in his high chair. This way, he was preoccupied with something, and he couldn't touch the paint or try to wander off.
3. Use the paint pens to decorate the plate and write the words.
4. If you make a mistake with the paint, just wipe it off with a wet towel and let dry again before you repaint. I repainted the designs several times, and I had to redo a footprint once.
5. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. DO NOT preheat the oven, because the plates can crack from the quick temperature change. Instead, just let them warm up with the oven.

That's it! See? Super easy {I did all of these this morning!} and WAY cute. I can't wait to give these to Leland's grandparents!
