Bumpdate: 27 weeks

How far along: 27 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 26 pounds

Size of Baby: head of lettuce

Maternity Clothes?: Yes, but I’m struggling with them. Most of the ones I have are either too small or too big. Need to hit some resale shops for the basics. I don’t care to spend a ton of money on clothes that I will only need for 3 more months.

Sleep: Great! But still very tired during the day.

Food Cravings: All the bad things. :/

Food Aversions: Nothing really.

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Heartburn, round ligament pains, lower back pain and the right side of my rib cage is KILLING me! Baby girl isn’t up that high, but it hurts SO BAD there!

Milestones: Last week of my 2nd trimester.

Movement: So much movement! Lots of quick little jabs and rolls. They feel like muscle spasms, really.

Best moment this week: A great weekend with the boys!

Looking forward to: Visiting Magi, Fischer, and Otto this weekend!!!

Extra Notes: Still just contemplating names. I don’t feel a big rush to have a name yet. Weird, because I felt that way with both of the boys. I’m not worried about it this time.

Starting to get excited to set up our girl’s nursery (nothing major, but moving the blue and yellow over to Leland and Alden’s room and replacing it with some pale pinks and yellows).

Bumpdate: 26 weeks

How far along: 26 weeks

Leland wanted in on the picture this week.

Total Weight Gain: 25ish pounds

Size of Baby: kale (approximately 14”)

Maternity Clothes?: Yes, but I can’t stand them. I just want to wear yoga pants and giant t-shirts all the time.

Sleep: So good lately! The boys have been sleeping better and I am only waking once usually to use the bathroom!

Food Cravings: Carrot cake – this was a major craving with Alden too

Food Aversions: Nothing really.

Gender: Think pink (but not all pink…there are other nice feminine colors too)

Symptoms: Heartburn

Milestones: I’ve officially been pregnant for half a year!

Movement: Lots and lots lately. She kicks super low, which is different than with the boys. Dave got to feel it this weekend though. He never really got to feel the boys move. Every time he put his hand on my belly, they quit moving.

Best moment this week: Just a fun week in general.

Looking forward to: Visiting a friend downstate in a few weeks. Getting bunk beds for the boys.

Extra Notes: Dave and I each have a favorite name. We like each other’s favorite name too, except I don’t like that his isn’t a town, and he doesn’t like that mine is. One of us will budge at some point, but for now we’re just thinking.

Bumpdate: 25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks

Total Weight Gain: Ummm…I don’t know. I forgot to weigh myself today and I’m too lazy to get up now.

Size of Baby: Cauliflower! Holy cow, I have a baby cauliflower!

Maternity Clothes?: Yep

Sleep: It’s been great lately! The boys are sleeping a bit better since we’re back in the school routine. Sometimes they both wake me up at night, but I’ve had a few good nights when the only thing that wakes me is my bladder.

Food Cravings: Everything sweet.

Food Aversions: Nothing really.

Gender: Girl

Symptoms: Some round ligament pains, chapped lips are back (talking so much at school and not getting enough water).

Milestones: While 25 weeks isn’t really any big milestone, it is the time in pregnancy where I really feel like it’s real. With both boys, when we got to this point, it officially felt like we were going to have a baby soon. I guess because it’s quite a bit past that halfway point. I don’t know. But it’s exciting! She’ll be here in roughly 15 weeks!

Movement: A lot, but still pretty gentle most of the time.

Best moment this week: Just enjoying the weekend with my family.

Looking forward to: Fall fun and visiting a friend downstate, but not for a few more weeks.

Extra Notes: I took my glucose test on Friday. They say no news is good news so since I didn’t hear anything today, I must have passed! Hurray!

I started a gift registry which was fun to do again. It’s been awhile. Some friends are throwing me a “sprinkle” so I thought I’d do one. Even if no one buys from it, it will be nice to have the 15% off completion coupon!

Freezer Meal Prep Party

Last night, I got together with a couple of friends to prep some freezer meals for the crockpot. With the new school year upon us, we were feeling the need to have a few meals ready to toss in the crockpot and go.

The hardest part for me was finding healthy recipes. There are a TON of freezer meal recipes on pinterest, and many claim to be "healthy," but I noticed that most were made with Cream of Whatever soup. While I'm not opposed to that from time to time, I wanted the majority of these to be "clean" and not processed foods.

We started with six recipes (though we only prepped five because one of the meals calls for cranberries which aren't available yet). While I would have loved to prep like 40 meals for my freezer, I didn't want to go too much over my weekly grocery budget.

The three of us gathered at Courtney's house and got prepping! It took us less than two hours to do the five meals, and probably would have taken even less time if we didn't talk so much.

Bumpdate: 24 weeks

How far along: 24 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 24 lbs – my weight gain is officially the same as my # of weeks pregnant.

Size of Baby: cantaloupe

Maternity Clothes?: Nothing else will do.

Sleep: Let’s just say my kids are prepping me for when Wee 3 arrives.

Food Cravings: Chocolate – ALL the chocolate.

Food Aversions: Nothing in particular that I can think of.

Gender: Wee little chica.

Symptoms: I had a brief reprieve from allergies after lots of rain a few week ago. But they’re baaaaack and it’s awful.

Milestones: 24 weeks = viability!

Movement: Lots of movement, but still not super noticeable.

Best moment this week: Snuggling my newest nephew, Thorsten. I can’t wait to snuggle Wee 3.

Looking forward to: My next OB appointment – FRIDAY!

Extra Notes: Tossing around some names, but nothing official yet.

I have to take my glucose test this week. Not looking forward to that wretched orange drink…and I’m nervous about the results. My blood sugar has seemed okay lately and I’m doing a good job of balancing my carbs and proteins anyway, but still.
