Eleven Months...

Dear Olivia,

This week, you turned 11 months old. I can't believe that in one month (well, less than a month now that I'm writing this), you will be one year old.

You are growing so fast, sweet girl. Walking is now your preferred means to get around the house. No more crawling for you! You love to explore and get into all kinds of things that you shouldn't, such as the toilet paper roll and the dishwasher. You enjoy wrestling with Alden, as well as taking a toy and running away so your brothers can chase you.

You are eating more solid foods these days, and you especially like bread, pasta, and cheese (not unlike your mama). This week, you celebrated your last first holiday - Thanksgiving - and you enjoyed stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, a little bit of turkey, and rolls. You did not like cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie. You still eat some purees, but not as much. Pears, squash, and avocado are in the regular rotation, along with yogurt.

During this month, you also celebrated your first Halloween. We had a "Toy Story" theme, and you were Hamm, the piggy bank. You didn't like wearing your hood and it was too cold for you to trick-or-treat with the boys for very long. But we managed a couple of pictures.

You still nurse on demand, which is usually about 5-6 times during the day and a few times during the night. At Dawn's you still take breastmilk in a sippy cup. You also love to drink water out of a sippy and often steal your brothers' water bottles.

You got your first pair of actual shoes (not slippers), and you don't like them at all. As soon as I put them on you, you start trying to take them off. It'll take some getting used to, I'm sure, to wear things on your feet.

Livvy, you are pure joy. When you're around, we can't help but smile. I will never be able to put into words the incredible gift you have been to our family. I am so excited to celebrate you next month, but I'm okay with time slowing down a little bit so you can stay my little bitty baby for a bit longer.

I love you more than words, little one.

Love,
Mama
