Last week, you turned 15 months old. So much has happened in the last three months, I'm not sure where to start.
About a month ago, you got really sick with bronchiolitis, followed by a nasty double ear infection. It was several days of you feeling absolutely awful, and during that time, you weaned yourself from nursing. I was shocked, since you have always nursed so often and so well. It was your go-to for comfort, and I honestly didn't think you'd ever give it up on your own.
I had a hard time coming to terms with you weaning yourself, but we have developed some new routines in its place. We still rock to sleep, and it takes a little longer, but it's still one of my favorite things.
You eat a lot more at meals now. You love french fries and bread more than anything else (like your mama) and most fruits. You don't love veggies so much, but you will eat veggie purees. You still won't drink milk (of any kind) for anyone but Dawn, but you drink a lot of water. You even take your water sippy to bed with you.
You have transitioned from two naps a day to one, and are sleeping really well at night for the first time since you started daycare a year ago. You have slept ALL night a couple of times, but even when you don't sleep all night, you're usually only up once.
You love music and start dancing every time you hear a good beat. You like to play with toy cars and anything that you're not supposed to play with, like electrical cords, TV remotes, Legos, and fragile things.
You are very curious about animals, but your prefer to keep a safe distance. When they get too close, you get really nervous. You were coming around to petting Diesel, our cat, and he was actually letting you for a while. But he passed away a couple of weeks ago.
You are still very particular about which adults you interact with. Obviously, mom and dad are your favorites, and you adore Dawn. You have recently come around to Uncle Buc (Dawn's husband) and when you see him in the mornings, you run right to him and give him a big hug. One of these days I'm going to have to get a picture - it is THE CUTEST thing and a great way to start the day.
We had your well child visit yesterday. You weren't actually feeling well (either teething or a cold, we're not sure). You weigh 22 lbs 4oz (65th percentile) and are 31.5" long (80th percentile). You're growing and developing right on track. You still don't talk (you typically scream or grunt instead), so that's something I'm paying attention to, but not a red flag quite yet. There are a lot of things that I would be happy for you to take your time on, but I look forward to you talking. Partly because toddler voices are the sweetest ever, and partly because I'd like you to scream a tad less. Ha ha.
Your brothers still fight over who gets to hold you, even though you don't typically let either of them hold you, and they have to give you hugs and kisses all the time. You all love to chase each other around the house. Quite often, you will walk up to one of them and hug them, pat them on the head, and snuggle right in. And then you will either tackle them to the ground and climb on them or spit at them or pull their hair. I think it's hilarious, and they seem to think so too.
Sweet girl, there is no question that you are loved and cherished by everyone who knows you. You bring so much joy to our little world and we simply adore you.
Love you to the moon and back, baby girl.
Love,
Mama
